PRIVACY POLICY

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

You do not need to create a personal account or provide your name, email address, phone number, or other directly identifying information to use the App.

Location. If you allow location access, we collect precise or approximate device location to provide weather, radar, forecasts, alerts, and other location-based features. Location information may be stored on our systems to provide and maintain these features.

Anonymous identifiers. The App creates an anonymous Firebase user identifier and may process device, installation, or advertising identifiers. These identifiers allow us and our service providers to operate and analyze the App without requiring us to know your real-world identity.

Usage and diagnostics. We may collect information about how you use the App, including product interactions, app version, device and operating-system information, IP address, performance information, and crash or diagnostic data.

Purchases. If you purchase a subscription, we may receive purchase history, subscription status, transaction identifiers, and entitlement information. Payments are processed by Apple, and we do not receive your payment-card details.

Support. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, and attachments.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use information to provide weather, radar, forecast, alert, and location-based features; operate and maintain the App; manage subscriptions; understand how the App is used; improve features and performance; diagnose technical issues; measure marketing and user-acquisition performance; protect the App against abuse and security threats; respond to support and privacy requests; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

We use third-party services to operate, analyze, and improve the App. These include Google Firebase for anonymous authentication and app infrastructure, Amplitude for product analytics, AppsFlyer for installation attribution and marketing measurement, Adapty for subscription management, Apple for App Store purchases and platform services, and other hosting, infrastructure, and weather-data providers required to operate the App.

These providers may process information such as anonymous identifiers, device information, usage data, diagnostics, location, IP addresses, and purchase information as necessary to provide their services.

TRACKING AND APP TRACKING TRANSPARENCY

The App does not display third-party advertising.

We may use identifiers and usage information to measure marketing and user-acquisition performance. Where Apple considers this activity to be tracking, the App requests permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (“ATT”) framework.

If you allow tracking, AppsFlyer and other permitted services may use your device advertising identifier and related information for attribution and measurement. If you decline, we do not access the advertising identifier for tracking purposes, although Apple-approved aggregated or privacy-preserving measurement methods may still be used.

You can change tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings.

YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

You can control location access and tracking permissions through iOS Settings. Disabling a permission may limit features that depend on it.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing.

Because the App does not require a personal account, we may need an anonymous App or device identifier to locate information associated with your installation.

DATA RETENTION AND SECURITY

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and improve the App, provide its features, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete, aggregate, or de-identify it, subject to legal and technical requirements.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required by law, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers.

CHILDREN

The App is a general-audience weather service and is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly ask children to provide names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other directly identifying information through the App.

If you believe information relating to a child has been collected improperly, contact privacy@hurricane.app.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date indicates the latest revision. Where appropriate, material changes may also be communicated through the App.
